When Yamaha came out with the YZ250X, they gave us a great off-road bike built from their award winning motocross bike, but with a wide ratio transmission. Because the bikes are so similar, it is simple to convert the YZ250’s transmission to the wide ratio transmission from the YZ250X with this kit. Now you can give your YZ250 a better, wide-ratio gearing for off-road. Top speed increase of 14%!

This wide ratio transmission kit has all the OE Yamaha parts to convert your YZ250 transmission to the wide ratio transmission from the YZ250X. This kit comes with new 3rd, 4th, & 5th gears, circlips, and collar to update your transmission to a wide ratio setup. The new YZ250X uses the same 1st and 2nd gear as the regular YZ250. 3rd gear is actually a little bit shorter on the "X" models giving you a very useable 3rd, but 4th and 5th gears are both taller giving you a higher max speed and the advantage out in the desert or on higher speed courses.
