The Nihilo Concepts Billet Water Pump Gear is stronger and will last the life of your motor. The stock gear will eventually wear out with all the teeth being ground off, this will lead to water pump failure, engine overheating and possible seizure. Many people will force the side cover on when installing, this can break the teeth off the plastic gear. Always turn the crank until you feel the teeth mesh and push together gently. Never force the side case together. Don't take a chance, replace the stock plastic gear with this precision machined aluminum gear next time you have your side case off.
